China-ASEAN Expo grabs China's exhibition 'Oscar'

The China-ASEAN Expo secretariat received two honors at the Golden Finger awards, held from July 3 to 5 in Shanghai, for China's convention and exhibition industry.

The secretariat was awarded one of the "top 10 government-led exhibitions", and Wang Leirong, director of the secretariat, won the "top 10 people of the year" prize of the Golden Finger awards, considered the Oscars of China’s convention and exhibition industry.

The China-ASEAN Expo secretariat was invited to share ideas of housing exhibitions and management with directors of large exhibitions in China and abroad, representatives of exhibition agencies, and experts of the field.

Jointly organized by China and 10 other Southeast Asian countries, and undertaken by the government of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the China-ASEAN Expo is exploring marketization and innovation.

The past events witnessed the participation of 57 Chinese and ASEAN country leaders, more than 2,300 ministerial guests and 450,000 traders. It also established a new, cooperation model, emphasizing politics, diplomacy, trade and culture.

The China-ASEAN Expo, which plays a significant role in Sino – ASEAN cooperation and the Belt and Road Initiative, is listed as an important national-level exhibition by the Chinese government.
