A design competition for a logo and slogan for Nanjing Jiangbei New Area (NJNA) will kick off on Sept 1.

As it was declared the 13th national new area in China, NJNA needs a creative logo and slogan to reflect its regional features, enhance image and influence and promote a sound and fast development, said an official from area's administrative committee.

According to the competition rules, any individual or organization in or outside China can take part in the design contest. The submission period is from Sept 1 to 30. Participants can submit their design proposals to the official email address (njna@nj.gov.cn).

The organizer will announce the results of the competition on its official website late October. The winner for logo will get 30,000-yuan reward while the slogan winner will be rewarded 5,000 yuan. The second runner-ups and third place winners will also be offered cash and other prizes.

On June 27, 2015, the State Council officially approved the establishment of the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, which is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province. With a planning area of 788 square kilometers, it covers Pukou district, Luhe district and Baguazhou of Qixia district and boasts a group of industrial parks and two ports. The area is created with a view to push forward the development of the Yangtze River Delta region, thus creating a new growth engine in the east coast regions.
