Thailand seeks cooperation with more incentives

Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai, deputy secretary general of the Board of Investment of Thailand, promoted new investment opportunities in Thailand during the Promotion Conference of Thailand at the 12th China-ASEAN Expo on Sept 19.

She said, "Chinese enterprises are welcomed to invest in Thailand. The Thai government has formulated preferential policies. Serious investors should consider seizing this business opportunity for great results in Thailand." In order to help grow Sino-Thai economic and trade cooperation to a new level, the conference sponsor organized nearly 200 participating enterprises.

Thailand will give more incentives to encourage investment in the following areas: foreign investment in small and medium-sized enterprises to support research and innovation for their overall growth; environmental industry to save energy or use alternative energy sources to promote sustainable development, and investment in border areas to support the process of ASEAN economic integration.

Participants felt that increased Sino-Thai cooperation would fully support the Guangxi-Thailand joint working group mechanism in its goal of promoting exchanges and cooperation in trade, agriculture, education, tourism and culture; accelerate infrastructure facilities construction for both land and sea interconnectivity and facilitation of the 21st century China-ASEAN "Maritime Silk Road" economic belt; and promote construction of industrial parks and a functioning cross-border industrial chain.
