The China South City project is located at the International Trade and Logistics Park in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province.
Covering 180 million square meters and costing 60 billion yuan ($9.44 billion), the project integrates functions of exhibition, logistics, market expansion, brand promotion and industrial tourism. It is designed to help create a distribution hub for industrial raw materials and commodities.
Exhibition halls displaying commodities from countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt – an ancient trade route stretching from China to Central Asia - and ASEAN countries have been set up to provide a transaction platform for locals.
In March, the city’s tourism scenic spot rating committee announced that the project had been approved as a 3A national tourism scenic spot.
The China South City project boasts tourism resources that include a trading square and Xinsi Temple Park; both are capable of providing shopping and entertainment services and giving visitors a taste of cultural relics.
The designation of the area as a 3A national scenic spots is expected to improve Xi’an’s tourism industry, promote the South China City project and explore its market potential.
