What surprises will it bring to us? Our correspondent will show you a first look of the Exhibition with sources from the CAEXPO Secretariat.

According to the officials of the CAEXPO Secretariat, this Exhibition is the largest specialized exhibitions of the CAEXPO, which has been concluded successfully for five sessions since 2010, effectively strengthening the China-ASEAN cooperation in forest and wood industry.

First look of the CAEXPO Forest and Wood Products Exhibition 2015

Highlights:

Classic rosewood furniture remains to act as the leading role. This Exhibition will use an area of 22,000 sqm of the Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center, almost half of which will be accommodated for rosewood furniture. Vietnam will charter an independent hall to showcase its products, as did at the previous four sessions. Enterprises from Lao PDR, Myanmar and other countries that are famous for rosewood wood manufacturing are also enthusiastic to join this event as exhibitors. It is worth mentioning that it will be the first time for Dongxing city of Guangxi, home to rosewood furniture in Southwest China, to charter an independent hall to showcase various high-end products in this regard. The audience and visitors will be, by then, presented a feast of classic rosewood furniture.

Wood-based panels and wood structure are also major exhibits of this Exhibition, since they are one of the priority cooperation sectors in the China-ASEAN forestry cooperation. Therefore, quality made-in-China wood-based panels, wood doors, floors, stairs and structure will be showcased at this Exhibition, to promote relevant technology and capacity to the ASEAN countries. What’s more, the China-ASEAN Conference on Cooperation and Development of Wood-based Panel will be arranged on the sideline, which will attract the participation of top management, associations, scholars, experts and enterprises in the field.

Forest economic products, projects and advanced technology will also be showcased. Apart from rosewood furniture, dried fruit, tea leaves, edible mushroom, domestication and breeding products of wild animals and plants and other distinctive green forest economic products won the popularity of the visitors at the previous session. At this Exhibition, Chinese regions and cities that are advanced in this regard will organize exhibiting enterprises to showcase their forest economic products, projects and technology to further reinforce the bilateral cooperation.

To meet the demands for the development of the forest and wood industry, this Exhibition will set aside a section for the showcase of forestry equipment, including woodworking machinery, gardening machinery and log-hauling machinery, etc., in particular, those that cater for the markets of China and ASEAN.

The section for flowers and seedlings will be continued. This section was set up at the last session for the very first time, achieving rich outcomes. This year, it will continue to showcase the seedlings of trees and plants, ornamental flowers, economic flowers, rare or endangered flowers and gardening design, etc. The productive forestry cooperation between China and ASEAN will beyond doubt foster more business opportunities for the international market of flowers and seedlings.

Diversified sideline forums and programs will pass the latest market intelligence and help the participating enterprises explore more business opportunities. According to the CAEXPO Secretariat, the 5th China (Nanning) Forest Products International Trade Forum will be arranged during the fair period, to which insiders and entrepreneurs will be invited to discuss the heated issues on trade and investment in the industry. Other sideline meetings will include China-ASEAN Conference on Cooperation and Development of Wood-based Panels, China-ASEAN Wood Culture Forum. The consensus reached at these programs will help establish and improve the cooperation mechanism between China and ASEAN in the forestry, initiate more exchanging and cooperation projects and build the Exhibition as a more effective platform for the bilateral cooperation in the field. In addition, a series of programs to promote wood culture will be arranged, including live performance of wood turning technique and vocational college student woodworking skills competition. These forums and programs will help participating enterprises grasp comprehensive information and more business opportunities.

China and the ASEAN countries are strongly complementary in the forestry structure and the relevant foreign trade volume has been growing increasingly in recent years. Since the China-ASEAN FTA was established in 2010, the import and export of forest products between China and ASEAN has gained a momentum, making the forestry cooperation become an important part of the China-ASEAN economic and trade exchanges. ASEAN has become the most dynamic importer and exporter of China’s forest and wood products. This Exhibition will play an important role in leveraging the advantages of China and ASEAN in forest and wood resources and promoting the bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
