Guangdong province’s regional innovation capability has ranked at the second place nationwide for seven consecutive years by the end of 2014, according to a report by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Among the five indexes for the assessment, Guangdong’s innovation performance tops the country. On the National Science and Technology Awards Conference held in January 2015, a historic high of 46 innovation achievements from Guangdong won national prizes for the year 2014. In the meantime, the industrial output of its high-tech industry reached 5.18 trillion yuan ($834 billion), 15 percent more than the year before.
