Silk Road Cultural Expo opens official website

The Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo (SRICE), an annual event held in the historic city of Dunhuang, Gansu province, launched its official website on Jan 14.
The website http://www.silkroaddunhuang.org/ has both English and Chinese.
The Chinese version provides information on news, investment and cooperation, tourism and exhibition services of countries along the Silk Road, an ancient trade route stretching from North China to Central Asia and Europe.
The site has a column for France, the guest of honor of the first expo, and two documentaries — Dunhuang and Hexi Corridor.
The expo, approved by the State Council, is intended as a platform for governments of countries along the Silk Road to exchanges ideas on cultural and economic development with different Chinese provinces .
The first SRICE will kick off on Sept 20, 2016 and continue to Sept 21.
Dunhuang city was designated as the permanent venue of the expo with a conference facility covering an area of 125,000 square meters.
The city, best known for its Mogao Grottoes, a huge collection of Buddhist sculptures, was a significant cultural stop on the Silk Road.
