Export of furniture made in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province reached 5.4 billion yuan ($820.8 million) in 2015, up 11.4 percent compared to a year ago, according to the city's customs office.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-15), the total export value of Zhanjiang-made furniture reached 18.17 billion yuan, a 2.2-fold increase over that of the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-10).
Statistics from the customs office also show that the furniture was mainly exported to ASEAN countries, the US, the UAE and the European Union during the 12th Five-Year Plan. The 51-fold increase in exports to ASEAN countries over the 2011-15 period led increases of exports to all other regions.
