China Daily website is inviting you to share Chengdu Story with us! and here are some points that we hope will help contributors:
My name is Batamuliza Jennifer, I’m from Rwanda a very beautiful country found in the eastern part of Africa. I am a Master student in Information Software Engineering Department doing my research in Information Security (Smart cities, Internet of Things(IoT), Big Data and Cloud Computing) at University of Electronics Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China.
I came to China in 2014 to further my studies, honestly I didn’t even search the Internet to find out how Chengdu city looks like. Just on my arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport I straight away felt in love with the city by just looking at the lovely and welcoming faces at the airport. I started having a good feeling that I will have fun moments in Chengdu.
Chengdu has many tourists’ attraction points that many people don’t know about yet they should know. Chengdu is a home to Giant Pandas the rarest animals in the world. I had a chance of visiting the Panda Base during my stay in Chengdu. I was moved by how pandas are treated at the base and I got to learn much about pandas. This is a once in life experience that I will never forget in my life.
Chengdu has the most beautiful ladies than other cities in China. For sure, as you walk across the streets in Chengdu city you come around the beautiful smart Chinese girls with Chengdu origin.
Sichuan cuisine is the best so far. I enjoy Sichuan cuisine. It is so spicy making it so delicious! I enjoy hot pot much and I will really miss it when I get back home.
I also learnt Chinese language so fast in that all this time I have had no language barrier speaking to Chinese here in Chengdu city not leaving aside the Sichuan mandarin.
Not forgetting about the Chengdu Climate which has four seasons and I get to enjoy all the four seasons and most especially the autumn.
Luodai ancient town also found in Chengdu city was worth visiting during my stay. The place has most delicious food, local mix culture and traditional Chinese things.
Tianfu Square is a busy place found at the center of Chengdu city. I like this place so much in that I have to visit the place at least once each week as I relax out of my busy schedule at school. Sichuan Science and Technology Museum in front of which stands an imposing statue of Mao Zedong.
On my list of places to visit before I live this beautiful Chengdu city are:
Jinli Ancient Street
Wang's Tomb
People’s park
Wenshu Temple
Chunxi road
As I have heard much about these places and leaving without visiting these places would make me regret sometimes in life.
Chinese who live in Chengdu are so friendly I made uncountable friends in China and will keep in touch with them even when I go back to my country.
I would recommend Chengdu city to whoever wants to visit China! It’s the real good taste of China.
Chengdu city has very many International industries, it is so developed with nice buildings, roads and everything is found in Chengdu.
Generally my stay in Chengdu was the best experience in life that I will never forget. I have had a chance to visit Switzerland, Europe but China is far better because they are so welcoming and people in China have more interest in learning other people’s culture too.
I will not finish without talking about my university which is founded in Chengdu city. University of Electronic Science and Technology of China is one of the top universities in China. I am proud to have had my education here, I am now well equipped to go pass the knowledge I got here in my country Rwanda. My country has good leadership in place and empowers women and girls in technology! I am proudly Rwandan!
Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda is also a sister city to Chengdu. I would take this golden chance to thank Chengdu government for the sister city scholarships given to Rwandan students in Chengdu. We don’t take things for granted. Thank you so much!
