Yangzhou to celebrate Flowery March Festival
A series of economic, trade and tourism activities will be staged at the 2016 Flowery March International Economy, Trade and Tourism Festival to be held in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu province, Apr 18-May 18.
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held in the Yangzhou Bio-diverse and Sci-Tech City, a district of Yangzhou, on Apr 18. It is expected to attract more than 500 business people worldwide, including 200 domestically.
The festival is expected to put on economic and trade events such as green design expos, forums about Internet cultural industries and promotional events about science and technology innovation programs.
Tourism themed activities such as flower festivals, marathon races, outdoor camping and summits for Yangzhou entrepreneurs will also be held in the one-month-long festival.
Yangzhou in Jiangsu province is a hot tourist destination with more than 2,000 years of history. It ranks 24th among the Top 100 Chinese Cultural Cities, according to a list released by the Chinese Culture Development Index. The city has held the annual festivals for 15 consecutive years.
