Nippon Paint China's "Color, Way of Love" Project and Wilmar International Ltd, Asia's leading agribusiness group, jointly launched a color-themed summer camp in Wilmar Primary School in Qingtang town, Yingde city of north-central Guangdong province on July 19. The seven-day camp has ended on July 25.
Wilmar Primary School, with a history of 79 years, has suffered from decaying old walls and was rebuilt in 2012 with sponsorship of Wilmar International.
The summer camp, part of Nippon Paint's CSR project "Color, Way of Love," invited 11 student volunteers from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts to provide various classes for local students.
The classes covered fine arts, English, magic, music, dancing and mental health education, with the hope of bringing knowledge and joy to the students.
It was the second public benefit activity cooperation between Nippon Paint's "Color, Way of Love" Project and Wilmar International since 2014, as well as the third volunteer art teaching program of "Color, Way of Love" Project in 2015.
"Color, Way of Love" is one of Nippon Paint's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, which began in 2009 to help rural primary school children in remote areas decorate, rebuild, improve their campus and study environment. The project has gained support from over 20 enterprises.
"Color, Way of Love" Project has become a sustainable open platform. It hopes to congregate more charity corporate partners like Wilmar International, and more media to gain effective social resources to help more people.
Ariel Wu, Nippon Paint China's PR, CSR and Brand Communication Director, said, "The best way to fulfill the corporate social responsibility is to enhance cooperation with other enterprises and make use of resources of both sides to offer rural students more benefits." Wu also extended gratitude to the company's charity corporate partners for their joint efforts to brighten rural students' future.
