Mount Taibai, which is more than 2,600 meters high, is the highest point of the Qin Mountains. Its so-called “Summer Snow” is one of the top eight scenic attractions of Chang’an (ancient Xi’an city). It stands at the north of the Qin Mountain Range and extends across three counties – Mei county, Taibai county and Zhouzhi county. It lies 70 kilometers to the east of Xi’an city and boasts awesome cliffs. The famous poet of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907), Li Po, depicted it thus: “It neighbors the moon and even dwarfs the whole world.”
