The establishment of a tourism area in Yingjie on the outskirts of Harbin has led to a better standard of living and improved social welfare for many in the area.

Since the scenic spot was established in 2012, per capita income has tripled for villagers in Youlian village. Locals have moved out of their old houses and into newer apartment buildings.

The scenic area attracts more than a million visitors every year, and is home to beautiful natural landscapes, hot springs, as well as the biggest waterpark in Northeast China.

As a result of village’s improvement in recent years, Youlian has been awarded as Harbin’s new demonstration village in rural areas and also as a five-star new village.
