The seventh World Internet of Things Exposition (WIOT) will be held from Oct 30 to Nov 1 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, according to a press conference held on Oct 12 in the East Chinese city.

As the largest scale national-level exposition in the Internet of Things sector, this year’s WIOT is expected to attract 300 world-leading enterprises, universities and associations, including the International Telecommunication Union, Microsoft and Stanford University.

Hundreds of experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from the Internet of Things sector will also attend the event to exchange views on the industry’s development and how to deepen cooperation in the sector.

Themed “Innovative Internet of Things era and sharing global wisdom”, the WIOT will feature one main exhibition and eight summit forums.

The 50,000-square-meter exposition will have the most advanced technologies and products in the Internet of Things sector on display, as well as stands highlighting the recent achievements of Wuxi’s national sensor network innovative demonstration zone.

This year’s WIOT will also for the first time include several inter-ministerial meetings on the development of the innovative demonstration base of the national sensor networks in Wuxi.

These inter-ministerial meetings will provide accurate information about the development of the Internet of Things industry in both Wuxi and China as a whole.

The press conference also disclosed that plans for the construction of a world-class “Internet of Things town” to promote the development of Wuxi’s IoT industry will be published during the exposition.

Internet of Things competitions for college students and a job fair will also be held during the event.
