Zhongguancun leads development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration
The second Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week was launched on October 12 at Zhongguancun, a major high-tech zone in Beijing.
Zhao Hong, vice president of the Faculty of Social Science, spoke at the launching ceremony, saying that Zhongguancun leads the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration and plays a modeling role through its innovation.
Over 2,565 contracts flowed into Tianjin and Hebei province from Zhongguancun last year, an increase of 65 over the previous year, bringing in 8.94 billion yuan. Enterprises like Shenzhou Digital, which focuses on cloud technological products and services, and Sander Environment, a leading enterprise in solid pollution treatment in China, popularized new technologies in their respective fields reforming their own industries and adding to common prosperity.
In addition, Zhongguancun set up branches mainly in the electronic information industry in Hebei and Tianjin in 2015.
Mass entrepreneurship and innovation hubs and incubators, including nine from Beijing, have settled down in Tianjin. Zhao stressed the key role of north Beijing's hi-tech zone Zhongguancun and neighboring regions of Tianjin Municipality and Hebei Province in supporting the technology innovation hub drive.
