A ceremony launching the overseas filming for a documentary examining Guangdong province's role in 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, was held on Oct 27.
The event took place at the 2016 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo, being held in the Guangdong city of Dongguan from Oct 27 to 30.

Retrace the Maritime Silk Road aims to offer a deeper understanding of Guangdong province's role in the national initiative, and its connection with countries and regions along the route by displaying it in a visual and lively way.
It will tell story of the development of Guangdong province as it participates in the Maritime Silk Road Initiative. The documentary will also showcase the leading role the province plays in the process, focusing on manufacturing, commodity trade, logistics, infrastructure construction and connectivity.
At the opening ceremony of the expo, He Zhongyou, vice-governor of Guangdong province, said, "Guangdong province has been making efforts to enhance cooperation and exchanges along the Maritime Silk Road in areas of infrastructure, investment, international trade, cultural exchange and tourism, in order to achieve a win-win situation."
The documentary will be filmed in more than 20 countries and regions along the route. Domestic filming of the project is ongoing at present.
Retrace the Maritime Silk Road, which will be divided into three parts, each lasting 50 minutes, is scheduled to be broadcast on two channels of Guangdong Radio and Television (GRT), GRT's official website GDTV.cn and Tencent's QQ.com next May.
