Californians got the chance to delve into the wonders of intangible cultural heritages from regions along the ancient Silk Road in Sacramento, US, as part of a four-day exhibition that came to a close on Nov 30.

Sponsored by Lanzhou municipal government, Chengguan district government, Lanzhou tourism bureau and Gansu Huayuan Culture Industry Group, the Silk Road Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition presented more than 160 culture heritage items.

Many of the items represented culture in Northwest China and were welcomed by visitors in the Golden State.

Zhu Xiaoqin, president of Huayuan Culture Industry Group said the exhibition provided a good chance to promote cultural communication between China and Western countries.

“It also provides us an opportunity of investigating western consumers’ understanding of oriental culture,” Zhu added.

Wei Qi, general manager of Huayuan, said that the exhibition was customized for  US audiences.

“The items on display are adored by visitors and it proves that the Chinese traditional culture is accepted and welcomed by western people,” Wei added.

As a leading company in Lanzhou’s cultural industry, Huayuan has made efforts to publicize Chinese culture in western countries in recent years.
