The high-tech zone in Xinyu city was rated as a provincial forest park, according to the Jiangxi Forestry Working Conference held on May 15.

The award aims to encourage the construction of a complete ecological system in an industrial park, with a forest as its major part.

The high-tech zone was evaluated in terms of its forest coverage, green grass rate and per capita area of public green land.

To increase forest coverage and build a new green ecological zone, the zone has constantly increased input. Since 2010, it has invested 441.2 million yuan ($69.71 million) in forestation engineering and has planted 2.42 million trees of various species over 1631.53 hectares. The zone's forest coverage reaches 46.6 percent, effectively enhancing carbon absorption and improving the ecological environment of the zone.
