As an international communication platform, the forum aims to serve workers from the maternal and infant care industry in professional interactions and skill improvement.
Qin Geng, director-general of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the PRC’s Department of Maternal and Child Health, said that breastfeeding plays an important role in health. He hopes that the Breastfeeding for Love Project will become a long-term public welfare project with Chinese characteristics.
Zhao Yue, secretary of the hospital’s party committee, said that People’s Hospital of Peking University plans to explore a public service mode of breast feeding. “More volunteers are welcomed to join us,” he added.
Breastfeeding for Love has received full support from experts at home and abroad, including Nancy Mohrbacher and Jennifer Rebecca Thomas. They are willing to promote the development of China’s maternal and child industry with their professional experience and offer technology and managing support to the project.
