Beijing the next host of CMB to implement consumption upgrade

A press conference of 2018 (Beijing - Haidian) Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), one of the world's top three international wine competitions, was held at Beijing National Convention Center on May 28, announcing the capital's Haidian district will become the world's capital of wine in 2018.

The event, consisting of three stages - news release, high-end salon, and wine tasting - kicked off in a promotional video for the CMB 2018.

As the core area of national science and technology innovation centers, Haidian also has a profound history and wine culture, as described by CMB Chairman Baudouin Havaux who expressed confidence and high expectations for Haidian in his speech.

Wang Yancai, chairman of the China Alcoholic Drinks Association, congratulated Haidian on the right to host the CMB next year, and illustrated the importance of the 2018 CMB to the development of the wine industry in Beijing and the whole country.

Cui Shuqiang, secretary of the Haidian district committee, expressed deep potential and firm confidence in Haidian's hosting of the CMB, promising determination to make the competition more creative, distinctive and charming.

The theme of the high-end salon is "To introduce international competition and attain consumption upgrades in Beijing". Distinguished guests from the spheres of macro economy, industry, economic development, government services and brand development analyzed the issues and expressed their views.

More than 150 guests from home and abroad also attended the conference.
