Shandong winemaker welcomes foreign media

Changyu Pioneer Wine Group, one of the largest wine production companies in China, welcomed a group of Asian media organizations to witness the latest developments in wine production at its Yantai base on July 7.
 
Journalists visited Changyu International Wine City to discover a cutting-edge wine production line and advanced warehousing facilities.
 
Sun Jian, deputy manager of Changyu Pioneer Wine Group, revealed that Changyu International Wine City has achieved a high level of automation and information management. The single production line of the center has the fastest wine filling speed in the world, with the capability to fill 25,000 bottles of wine per hour.
 
The first phase of the wine city began operations during 2016. The whole center covers an area of more than 400 hectares with investment of 2.5 billion yuan.

The center comprises six different areas, including areas for winemaking, storage and bottling. It can produce 250,000 tons of wine and 150,000 tons of brandy annually.
 
In addition, the center has one of the world’s largest underground cellars, covering an area of nearly 30,000 square meters.
 
During the visit to Changyu International Wine City, Serik Korzhumbayev, editor-in-chief of Kazakhstan’s Delovoy Kazakhstan, revealed that he was deeply impressed by the scale and advanced technology of the wine center.
 
Kittidit Thanaditsuwan from Thailand’s National Multimedia Group expressed his view that China is now playing an important role in the global wine industry thanks to the growing interest of Chinese consumers in drinking wine, and that Changyu International Wine City is expected to become an international center for red wine.
