2018 National Electronic Sports Tournament kicks off

The National Electronic Sports Tournament (NEST) will soon be officially launched. This year’s tournament is divided into public, professional, and college matches. The competition programs will include MOBA, survival, FPS, and virtual sports; the national finals are expected to be held later this year.

The public competition will be initiated in May, and will cover Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Chongqing and Xi’an. The professional tournament will be broadcast on-line, with its finals based on different competition programs. The college competitions will take place in Nanjing, Xi’an, Dalian and Guangzhou.

Li Guihua, deputy director of the Sports Information Center of the General Administration of Sport, said that as the first national-level comprehensive electronic sports tournament hosted by the Sports Information Center NEST aims to create a high-end competition and communication platform for a large number of electronic sports enthusiasts, and will strive to make it a more professional and complete sports event in the future.

Li Qing, chairman of the CGA, mentioned that official competition programs will be selected from the MOBA categories of survival, FPS and virtual sports.

NEST was founded in 2013. It is hosted by the Sports Information Center of the General Administration of Sport, and organized by the CGA and certain companies.
