Experts focus on digital economy innovation

A meeting called Roundtable Dialogue: Digital Economy and High Quality Development was successfully held in the Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone on Oct 24, focused on cooperation in digital economy innovation and sharing development opportunities.

Shangguan Jiqing, mayor of Xi'an, and Yao Qizhi, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, unveiled the Xi'an Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Science.

The research institute is part of the Artificial Intelligence Project of the Interdisciplinary Information Research Institute jointly established by Tsinghua University and the Xi'an High-tech Zone.

The latter institute consists of a Financial Technology and Regulatory Technology Center, a Frontier Architecture and Smart Chip Research Center, and an Urban Brain Research Center.

The new institute will carry out research and industrial transformation at the forefront of financial technology, and production and research of high-end chips such as "AI chips" and low-power sensor chips, and will play a technological supportive role in smart cities, energy applications, environment, smart transportation, and smart networks.

The Global Programmer's Festival Organizing committee released the Digital Economy and High-Quality Development Xi'an Declaration at the meeting.

In the future, Xi'an will give full play to the digital economy to drive high-quality development and start emerging as a national central city with a digital economy, actively integrated into the global innovation network and helping to build the digital Silk Road.

At the roundtable dialogue, experts and entrepreneurs gave speeches on the professional theory of the digital industry, the significance of the festival held in Xi'an, and the development of the digital industry in Xi'an, providing beneficial thinking and references for the vigorous development of the digital economy in the new era.
