The Internet Plus Expo 2018, powered by CEBIT, grandly kicked off at the Guangdong Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center on Oct 24. The show featured the six major sectors of internet frontier technology, digital business, digital life, innovation and startups, smart manufacturing and robotics, accommodating 731 exhibitors from all over the world.

Senior government officials such as Ma Zhongyu, deputy director of the State Information Center; Lu Feng, vice secretary general of Guangdong province; Lu Yi, Party chief of Foshan; and Zhu Wei, mayor of Foshan, attended the fair's opening ceremony together with Marius Felzmann, senior vice president of Deutsche Messe AG; Gary Liu, managing director of Hannover Milano Fairs China Ltd; and other 300 guests.
Compared to previous sessions, this year's show hit a record high in its scale, which exceeded 50,000 square meters. It introduced two new themed sections on "digital business" and "digital technology" from CEBIT, the world's leading digital economic event, and has also significantly improved its specialization and internationalization standards.
Prince Michael of Kent led a British delegation to participate in the expo. Several CEBIT-selected European exhibitors, along with AHK, TUV and the China-German City Alliance, brought their latest products and solutions for smart city operation, block chain, big data processing and online video language transfer to Foshan.

In addition, domestic Internet tycoons, such as Baidu and Huawei, jointly presented the new momentum of the digital internet era. During the four-day event, numerous international elements will be integrated with "futuristic technology", injecting new life into the digital economy.
A total of 24 supportive forums, conferences and workshops will be held, including the Internet Plus Intelligent Manufacturing in China Summit Forum, China Digital Factory Application and Development Conference, the 2018 China UAN Industry Development Summit, the 20th National Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, and the China AI Plus Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit. They will present to global exhibitors, visitors, buyers and media a top-notch, professional and marvelous internet plus era pageant, second to none in South China and the rest of Asia.
