The opening ceremony of the 2019 Suzhou International Photography Exhibition "Highlights of the Belt and Road" was held at Suzhou Dushu Lake Library in southeast China's Jiangsu province on Sept 24.

International students from countries along the Belt and Road staged a fashion show in their unique traditional costumes at the event.

Co-hosted by the Suzhou Foreign Affairs Office and the Suzhou Broadcasting and TV Station, the photo exhibition features the achievements of foreign exchanges and cooperation between Suzhou and countries along the Belt and Road. It showcases the living and working conditions of foreigners in Suzhou, as well as the different customs and geographical features of the countries along the route.

A short video featuring the daily life of foreigners living in Suzhou from different countries along the Belt and Road caught the audience's attention at the opening ceremony.

In recent years, Suzhou has been actively integrating itself into the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. Foreign exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economic activity, education, sports and culture have been largely promoted. More and more international friends have come to Suzhou and settled down in the city.

The photography exhibition will be open to the public until Oct 31.
