When Beijing Benz Automotive's engine production factory celebrated a year of production, back on Nov 18, 2013, with its products being exported to the Benz HQ in Germany, it meant that Beijing Benz -- a joint venture of Daimler AG and Beijing Automotive Industrial Holdings – was officially joining the global purchasing and supply chain of Daimler, and had made a great leap forward in Chinese automobile technology.

This Nov 28, the Beijing Economic Technological Development Area's weekly announced the new Benz engine -- the M276 DEHLA -- in large-scale production, as the most powerful engine ever produced by the China branch.

The factory is the first producer of passenger car engine for Daimler outside Germany, its motherland, an epoch for the fast growing China auto market. It means Chinese factory is qualified to make core components and masters the vital manufacturing techniques for the most advanced cars.

The Beijing factory's products started to be exported to Germany in June this year, and are assembled to make the final cars there. The managers in Germany said the Chinese accessories fully met the Daimler's global standards. Fifteen percent of the factory's total production volume is provided to the headquarter, a record for Chinese car industry, displaying the great potential of made-in-China products.
