Industrial cluster of automobile
The automobile industry has formed two large clusters led by Beijing Benz and BAIC New Energy Vehicles. Benz has an annual capacity of 150,000 in manufacturing E-Class and C-Class sedans and GLK-class luxury midsize SUVs in the development area.
BAIC New Energy Vehicles has developed multiple series of electric vehicles, such as the E20EV, M30RB and C60FB, and a variety of hybrid vehicles, including heavy mixing, medium mixing and weak mixing. Its annual capacity is expected to reach 150,000 in 2015.
The automobile industry will give priority to developing high-end links, such as whole vehicle design and automobile electronics. It will also consolidate and elevate core equipment links like assembly, integration and engines; strive to develop the new-energy automobile industry; and strengthen high-end links such as green batteries, drive motors, electronic control, R&D design of charging piles and assembly and integration.
Representative enterprises include Benz, Beijing New Energy Vehicles, IAT, SinoEV Tech, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Lear and Brose.
