E-town begins public culture tourism
Beijing's Economic Technological Development Area, or E-town, recently announced the start of a public culture tourism program aimed to bring the public more local culture and tourism resources, as well as helping develop E-town's cultural information.
At the announcement ceremony, there were culture tourism products on display and performances with lively songs and dances that got the attention of employees and residents, and generally brought the house down. The display area had products from the area’s international travel agency, tropical plants nurseries and peach orchards.
The town has tried to combine culture and tourism. The Daxing tourism committee focused on health and leisure last year, and developed a bunch of new scenic spots and travel routes. Tourism services have also improved in the district. A total of 5 million tourists made trips to Daxing in 2014. Local tourism revenue stood at 4.7 billion yuan ($752 million).
