A ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of Baojian Co.’s presence in Beijing and celebrating its long-standing independent public welfare foundation was held in Shanghai on May 6th. The meeting recalled the company’s past 20 years, summarized the results of its contributions to public welfare and planned its next 5-year welfare plan.
Baojian Co. was the first direct selling health industry enterprise in Beijing to gain worldwide renown. In 1997, Baojian’s second year in Beijing, it donated funds to build the first Hope primary school in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province. Since then, it has built 100 Hope primary schools, practicing the corporate philosophy, ‘a commitment needs perpetual pursuit’.
On the same day that it donated the funds, Baojian Co. established an independent public welfare foundation that carried out the building of the hundred schools as project Hope. In addition, since 2004, the foundation has cooperated with the Chinese Youth Development Fund to attract more than 100 thousand “1% volunteers”. A “1% volunteer” is someone who donates one percent of their income to help poor people. In the next 5 years, Baojian will donate 10 billion yuan to project Hope and carry out other new projects to help vulnerable people, fund poor university students, and support people who are in trouble.
Baojian will continue to pursue its goal of being the top brand in its industry. It has become a national high technology enterprise and provided effective health protection to millions of people.
