Mondelez International builds Hope Kitchens in China

Mondelez International's 2016 public health month began on Oct 21. Mondelez International is a large American food and snack company that operates in many countries. This year, the company's public health month is themed on its program of constructing "Hope Kitchens" that encourage nutritional, healthy and vigorous diets to promote happiness and a sense of health in children. The theme is developed through enjoyable and educational events.
Since the month began volunteers from Mondelez China and its partners have been visiting recently built school kitchens and have built seven new ones in Guizhou, Hubei and Heilongjiang province that will be ready for the new semester. In addition, to ensure quality and sustainability Mondelez China has repaired and updated vulnerable equipment in Hope Kitchens in Anhui and Hunan province.
The president of Mondelez China, Ma Ruchao, said that it is eight years since the first Hope Kitchen was built in China. Many changes resulted in Chinese children and the program has attracted more and more people. Ma said that all Mondelez China staff are pleased by these achievements, and will continue to spread ideas on correct living.
Since 2009, Mondelez China's voluntary work has exceeded 26,500 hours. More than 300 Hope Kitchen and 50 vegetable gardens have been built, benefitting more than 150,000 rural students.
