Since 2015, 36 enterprises have moved into the Yongqing Hi-tech Zone.

Developed in conjunction with E-town (an operator of another technology zone in Beijing) and the city of Langfang, Hebei province, the new Beijing E-Town Yongqing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone lies in a unique geographic location, exactly 60 kilometers away from Tian'anmen Square to the north and 60 kilometers from Tianjin to the south.

With a total area of 90 square kilometers, the Yongqing Hi-tech Zone is expected to prioritize 'Internet + IM' and e-commerce industries after its completion. However, a further upgraded version of the park is already in development as part of its 10 year plan.

A wide range of industries including e-commerce, biomedicine, and metropolitan services can be found in the hi-tech zone. Five enterprises have headquarters and research centers at E-town's other technology zone and will utilize the Yongqing Hi-tech Zone for industrialized development.

Aside from the warehouses and manufacturing facilities, housing and other services for a population of more than 100,000 were integrated into the zone, allowing workers the option of short commutes and to help alleviate overcrowding in Beijing.
