The E-town Development Area in Beijing held the second award ceremony of the Innovative and Entrepreneur Talents Project• E-town Talents on Feb 21, according to the People’s Daily.

The government awarded 159 individuals and seven teams for their innovative work and contributions to the development of the area. Teams from Beijing Benz and JD, China's second-biggest e-commerce player, received awards. They were rewarded with a special funding and a series of preferential policies.

“The government has been committed to the introduction and cultivation of talents in E-town,” said an official from the area’s administration. “A demonstration area of high-end leading talents will be built here by 2020.”

So far, E-town has gathered over 9,000 high-end talents, including 3,300 who have returned from overseas. The area has also promoted the formation of biomedicine, electronic information, equipment production and automobile manufacturing clusters in the zone.
