Infineon sets up new lab in E-town

A new lab wholly-invested by Infineon, a German semiconductor manufacturer, was set up in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (E-town) on Aug 22, according to local media.

The lab will focus on the research and development of chips in areas including automotive electronics and power management. And the total revenue of the lab is expected to reach 240 million yuan ($36 million) in 2017, year-on-year growth of 57 percent.

With its headquarters in Neubiberg, Germany, Infineon has been expanding its reach globally and has set up four branches in China.

Established in 2010, Infineon in Beijing is an important part of the company’s growth strategy in China, attracting investment of $150 million. Its main business activities include application and R&D for renewable-energy vehicles, manufacturing IGBT power stack products, sales & marketing, and providing a customer support team, mainly for North China.
