Yandong Microelectronics’ 8-inch integrated circuit R&D industrialization project, which is one of the key projects of Beijing Science and Innovation Center in 2018, is nearing completion with a ceremony held on April 15, according to local media.
The project is expected to be put into production in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area by the end of this year.
It will be the first large-scale 8-inch IC production line in Beijing. Its monthly production capacity will eventually reach 50,000 units.
Also, it will provide a trial platform for design enterprises and research institutes, and a verification platform for equipment and material companies in Beijing.
The project is expected to help develop Beijing into a national technological innovation center for the integrated circuit industry.
Established in 1987, Beijing Yandong Microelectronics Co (YDME) is a specialized IDM high-tech enterprise integrating the design, manufacture and sale of integrated circuits. It has developed into a leading domestic manufacturer of analog integrated circuits and discrete devices.
