At the research and development center owned by BAIC BJEV, Cai viewed new energy vehicle replacement technology, the all-media vehicle monitoring platform and a new energy new model display. He also listened to a report on the planning and construction of an industrial park and underlined the importance of the safety of data generated by new energy vehicles.

BJEV, the electric car-making arm of Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corp (BAIC), is one of the leading new-energy carmakers in China.

Based in the BDA, BBAC is a joint venture founded by BAIC Motor, Daimler AG and DGRC. The company currently produces the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, long wheelbase E-Class and GLK SUV vehicles. The new plant extensions will accommodate the future production of new generation compact cars (NGCC) based on Mercedes-Benz front-wheel drive architecture.
