Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) is to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, according to agreements signed with seven top domestic universities and research institutions on June 28, according to local media.

The seven universities included Tsinghua University, Peking University, and the Institute of Materia Medica at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.

BDA has made great efforts in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements over the past few years. It utilizes government guidance, market-oriented methods, and the resources of industry alliances, while bringing into play the advantages of resource integration at organizations such as industry alliances, promotion associations, and chambers of commerce in the development area.

Much attention was placed on the transformation of a number of high-tech projects such as Zhizhong Energy Internet Research Institute, which was established by a research team from Tsinghua University.

A total of 90 incubators, makerspaces, public technology service platforms and industrial parks have been set up in the BDA, along with more than 60 academician workstations, post-doctoral research stations and new industrial research institutes to facilitate innovation and entrepreneurship in the area.
