World Robot Conference concludes in BDA

The 2018 World Robot Conference (WRC) concluded at Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) on Aug 27, with the number of participants attending a related exhibition hitting 282,000, according to local media.

The three-day main forum and more than 20 themed forums invited around 300 top experts and top business figures from home and abroad to share the latest scientific and technological achievements, as well as to promote new partnerships within the robotics industry.

The exhibition at the WRC displayed more than 500 exhibits from 166 companies based in more than 15 countries, including traditional industrial robots, service robots, special robots, and advanced basic components.

Competitions were also held in five different categories attracting more than 50,000 participants from more than 10,000 teams, bringing together hundreds of top experts from nearly 20 countries and regions including the United States, Germany and Japan.

Agreements on future cooperation intentions worth 8.9 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) were also signed at the conference, setting a new record.

During the event, a series of important research results were released including the China Robot Industry Development Report 2018, a report on the Top 10 Most Promising Technology Prospects in the Field of Artificial Intelligence (2018-2019), and details of the Top 10 Emerging Application Fields of Robotics (2018-2019).
