A group of men view the full moon on Sept 24 in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA). The day marked China’s traditional Mid-autumn Festival. The festival celebrates three fundamental concepts which are closely tied to one another: getting together with close family and friends, giving thanks and praying. It is an occasion for outdoor reunions among relatives and friends. Traditional activities include eating mooncakes, watching the full moon and guessing lantern riddles -- an activity involving writing riddles on lanterns while other people try to guess the answers.
