The newly-opened Liangjiang branch of Shanghai DIG (Direct Imported Goods) has experienced a wave of shoppers since its opening on March 8, according to the official website of Liangjiang New Area.
"On the shop's opening day, the sales volume exceeded 100,000 yuan ($15,973.68)," said a staff member from the Shanghai DIG Liangjiang branch.

"The shop opens from 10 am to 8 pm and some customers came even earlier than our business hours," said Tao Xiaoli, manager of the DIG Liangjiang branch.
At present, more than 7,000 goods from 70 countries have gathered in the 1500-square-meter shop, according to Tao.

Aside from customers, visitors also came to the shop to do business, according to Chen Wenting, general manager of DIG Chongqing Branch Company. "I received five clients in last four days for cooperation," said Chen.
As the first import retail store to open in inland areas, the shop has cornered the market with advantages in the variety and price of goods it sells, explained Chen as to the reason why DIG Liangjiang branch is attractive to both customers and business clients.
