The 2016 Chongqing International Talent Innovation Entrepreneurship Symposium will be inaugurated at the Chongqing International Expo Center from Nov 28 to 29, with the aim of attracting highly-skilled individuals from home and abroad to start businesses in Chongqing.

The symposium will be held in Chongqing for the second time, and will be themed around talent and entrepreneurship. It is aimed at providing a platform for returnees and foreign experts to start businesses in communications, commercial design, marketing, production and capital management.

An innovation entrepreneurship competition as part of the event is also being launched to encourage new entrepreneurs with innovative projects to settle in Chongqing. The competition will tour the world, visiting America, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Europe, before returning to China. Only 50 of the best projects out of thousands of entries can make it through to the final in Chongqing, where they will later attend the high-level symposium to seek investment.

Chongqing is an important city in China, which wants to attract talented foreigners and returnees who want to start new businesses. The local government aims to boost economic growth, and has begun varied programs to give funding and support to entrepreneurs from overseas. It is determined to make Chongqing attractive to foreign entrepreneurs and companies, not only with a favorable business environment, policies and platforms, but also by offering an environment containing open-minded investors.
