An aerial photo of Chongqing Guoyuan Port looks like an aray of colorful candy boxes on Nov 9. Located in the Liangjiang New Area, it is China’s largest inland transport hub, where water, roads, railway and highways meet. It connects the golden waterways of the Yangtze River and Silk Road Economic Belt. The port reached an annual throughput of 8.5 million tons in the first year of its operation, and it now handles 12 million tons in cargo yearly. A spokesperson for the port said that it expects to achieve an annual throughput of 45 million tons in the future. [Photo/liangjiang.gov.cn] |
