The Smart China Expo (SCE) 2022 is scheduled to take place on Aug 22-24 in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, according to a press conference given by the Information Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government on July 28.

Thanks to the event, which has been held successfully every year since 2018, Chongqing has collected 1,704 key digital economy operators, with its digital economy added value growing 16 percent on average annually.

Keeping the original theme "Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life", SCE 2022 will mainly focus on the concept of smart city, and will be held both online and on-site, featuring meetings, exhibitions, competitions, and forums.

Nobel Prize and Turing Award winners will be invited to participate in the opening ceremony, forums, and high-end dialogues at the expo.

More than 550 participants will display their latest digital technologies and products in the expo's eight pavilions and six exhibition areas.
