Zhang Yimou's movie gets Oscar nomination

The 79th Oscar nominee list was released early this morning. Chinese director Zhang Yimou's newest movie "Curse of the Golden Flower" will compete for an award in the achievement in costume design category. It was not nominated for best foreign film.

To win the honor, this movie has to beat out other four top pictures, including "The Devil Wears Prada," "Dreamgirls,""Marie Antoinette" and "The Queen."

The best picture nominees are "Babel," "The Departed," "Letters from Iwo Jima," "Little Miss Sunshine" and "The Queen."

The directing nominees are Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for "Babel," Martin Scorsese for "The Departed," Clint Eastwood for "Letters from Iwo Jima" and British directors Stephen Frears for "The Queen" and Paul Greengrass for "United 93."

The 79th Annual Academy Awards, the top honors in cinema, will be presented on February 25th in Hollywood.
