Ode to motherland

Updated: 2009-07-09 13:05 The Long Live the Motherland Musical Epic will begin its nationwide tour next month, to celebrate the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China. It comprises four parts, with the narration going from the birth of the Chinese nation to current times. Each part includes four songs and four poems, all celebrating the long history and splendid culture of China. All the lyrics and poems have been written by Gu Gang, an overseas Chinese, while they have been set to tune by Cheng Yuan. Many famous Chinese singers will participate in the performance. Sponsored by the China Audio and Video Publishing House, the show is set to tour San Francisco and cities in Europe after its domestic tour. |
