Rep: 'Mischa Barton has left hospital'

Mischa Barton has been released from hospital following treatment for an undisclosed medical issue.

The former O.C. star had been taken to a clinic in Los Angeles on July 15, after police responded to a non-emergency call from her home. It was later alleged that she was being held against her will for psychiatric evaluation.

Speaking to Us Weekly, her representative said: "I can confirm that she's left the hospital with the intention to resume production [on her new CW show The Beautiful Life]."

The 23-year-old's spokesperson previously declined to reveal what medical treatment the star was receiving, although claimed last week that she was "making improvements".

Barton is scheduled to begin production on The Beautiful LIfe in New York on July 31. The show's executive producer Ashton Kutcher recently denied reports that he was seeking to temporarily replace the actress while she recovered.
