Daniel Radcliffe wants to direct a gangster film. The 20-year-old actor is planning to get behind the camera after he finishes shooting the final 'Harry Potter' film - 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II' - and thinks a crime adventure would be the perfect vehicle for him. A source said: "Daniel's been looking at lots of scripts trying to decide what he'd like to direct. But he's now focusing on a story about a London gangster. What he really wants to do is blow away people's preconceptions of him. He's not just a boy wizard." The title and script of the proposed project is not yet known but it is thought it will be in the style of Guy Ritchie's gangster movie 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. Although he is keen to become a director, Daniel doesn't want to helm anything on the scale of the 'Harry Potter' movies. He previously said: "I think I'd like to start with something less ambitious! Short films rather than a big $280 million movie. I don't think that'd be a good place to start. "I've learnt a lot about certain things from the 'Harry Potter' films but you also learn through your own experience. I'd say the thing I've learnt most of all from watching directors is how to direct actors. But in terms of the technical side of things I'm still pretty clueless." |
