Lindsay Lohan's court mystery

Lindsay Lohan is due in court later today (16.10.09). Although it is not known why the actress has been ordered by a judge in Beverly Hills, California, to appear it is rumoured she is not complying with a court ordered alcohol education course. Lindsay, 23, was ordered to take the course as part of her three-year probation for a charge of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in 2007. Gossip website TMZ claims sources running the education course contacted the court about Lindsay's conduct and that she has been "outright violating the terms of the programme". The court order was made during a routine progress report on Wednesday (14.10.09). Records show no warrant has been issued, suggesting it is unlikely a probation violation has occurred. However, if the judge determines Lindsay has violated the terms of the programme, her probation could be revoked and she could be jailed. Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan, has raised his concerns about his daughter, saying he thinks she is addicted to prescription drugs and is planning to stage an intervention and force her to get professional help. He said: "I'm going to get her off the prescription drugs that she's on. I hate it when people talk about illegal drug abuse because it's not just drinking and illegal drugs that kill you. "Prescription drugs can destroy and kill a person and are sometimes harder to stop." Lindsay famously served just 84 minutes behind bars in 2007 before being placed on probation after pleading guilty to two counts of being under the influence of cocaine, and no contest to two counts of drunken driving and one count of reckless driving. |
