NEW YORK, New York -- Blake Lively’s wavy blonde “Gossip Girl” locks are the new “Rachel” according to a new report.
A decade after women flocked to salons for Jennifer Aniston’s “Friend’s” ‘do, a new crop of women are being spotted in shops asking for a Serena, the NY Times reported.
“It’s aspirational hair,” John Barrett, who has a salon above Berdorf Goodman in Manhattan, told the paper.
”[They] don’t just want the hair, they want he life,” he added.
Nuri Yurt, of Madison Avenue’s Toka Salon, told the paper that nearly almost all of his clients with long hair are requesting a Serena-esque look.
“Her hair right now is a big trend,” Yurt said.
As for Blake herself, she had no idea her ‘do was so on the pulse.
“I didn’t really realize the extent of it,” she told the paper.
“That’s always kind of odd, but unbelievably flattering,” she added.
As for how to go about getting Blake’s Serena ‘do, Jennifer Johnson, who crafts Blake’s Serena look on The CW teen drama, lets the curls form by wrapping the actress’ locks in a bun.
