The "One Belt and One Road" initiative, also known as the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, refers to the routes connecting China and Europe.

The initiative accounts for an aggregate gross domestic product of $21 trillion, or 29 percent of the world's GDP, and involves 65 countries with a total population of 4.4 billion.

Some of the key elements, such as location advantage, development potential and competitive advantage, were taken into consideration when drawing up the list, the institute said.
