Major Chinese media cover Olympic preparations

A total of 60 journalists from 41 major Chinese media started their four-day news coverage on the preparatory work for the 29th Olympic Games at the BOCOG headquarters on the morning of April, 18th.

Jiang Xiaoyu, executive vice-president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) briefed them on the preparations for the 2008 Olympics and the 13th Paralympic Games.

Organized by BOCOG Media and Communications Department, the news coverage aims at the in-depth publicity of the Games theme slogan - One world One Dream - and the concepts of Green Olympics, High-tech Olympics and People's Olympics to boost Chinese audience's awareness of Olympic preparations and their support to the event.

The press corps comes from 12 central news media including People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV and 29 provincial and municipal media.
